About vthappenings
Vermont is small enough to know and big enough to keep surprising you. vthappenings is a map for the second part.
It is for everyone who wants to get the most out of living here or visiting: the trail you have driven past a hundred times, the brewery two towns over, the barn dance on Saturday, the library talk you would have gone to if you had known. Instead of six websites and a group chat, one map — 21,561 places and 5,514 upcoming events statewide, kept current from the venues' own calendars, and 6,121 named trails over 19,153 km, with 1,899 climbing routes.

How it works
Pick what sounds good — outdoors, food and drink, music, kids, trails — and where: right here, nearby, or the whole state. The map shows what is there; the list shows what is nearest; a pin lets you ask about somewhere else. Places are curated by how much there is to say about them, so the map stays readable at any zoom. Events come straight from venue calendars, grouped into productions so a weekly series does not crowd out the one-night show.
Who makes it
vthappenings is made by Brave Squirrel Studio, a two-person software and design studio in Shelburne, Vermont. We do the work ourselves, we live where the data is, and if a place is wrong we will probably hear about it at the co-op. Built in Vermont.
